Saudi Government to develop 27 projects in Jazan region

The government of Saudi Arabia plans to invest $213m into 27 water and environmental projects in the Jazan region.

The list of projects includes a main sewage treatment plant and a pumping station, executing a line for the main sewage treatment plant in Sebya, installing networks for sewage in Abu Arish, implementing household sewage connections in Jazan, and implementing the main pumping station and the expulsion line in Damad.

According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Governor of Jazan Prince Mohammed bin Nasser inaugurated the projects in the presence of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Al Fadli.

The government of Saudi Arabia also says it has plans for the re-implementation of water transport lines that are linked to wells and pumping units affected by recent flooding in the area.

Previously, the government also announced $2.6bn in infrastructure projects, in addition to an upgrade of the Abha Regional Airport and a new 1,000-bed medical centre.
