Work is currently underway on a number of modern development projects in Kalba, a major city in Sharjah, including the Al Kitab Rest project, which is located 850 metres above sea level in the mountains of Wadi Al Hilu, and the new Kalba Corniche, senior officials have confirmed.

The officials’ comments came during a visit by HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His visit to Kalba came as part of his desire to follow up on the work underway across modern projects in the region, a WAM report said.

It added that Dr Sheikh Sultan reviewed the development of the project and ensured they would be provided with the facilities and services to keep pace with the wider development witnessed across the emirate.

During his visit to Al Kitab Rest Project, the Sharjah Ruler was briefed on the designs and plans that come in line with his directives, which aim to provide more services to the rest-goers after the completion of its implementation.

Sheikh Sultan was also briefed on the plan of the new road leading to the Rest area, directing to provide a higher degree of safety and security.

During the visit, he also ordered the start of facilitating the afforestation of Jabal Al-Kitab Mountain, with the directive of planting 3,500 seedlings from the nursery at El Badi Palace.

The Ruler of Sharjah also inspected the new Kalba Corniche, which will witness the construction of many modern projects, reviewing the locations of the new projects and directing for further integrated services in several areas.
