The Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DUPM) has endorsed the master development plan for the Abu Dhabi Corniche project.
The project aims to enhance the tourist, recreational and sport attractions on the corniche, reported state news agency WAM.
The department tasked Miral Asset Management to undertake the project as the main contractor, it was reported.
Phase one of the project is expected to complete in March 2018. The phase spans an area of 78 thousand square meters with a host of recreational, service and commercial facilities. They include a water park with lots of activities and aqua sports, outdoor cinema, theatre, outdoor sports hall, open adventures and playgrounds, kiosks and restaurants, and retail outlets.
