ABB has launched its power and automation control solution MicroSCADA X in the Middle East.

The new version provides a unified experience, giving utilities and businesses one vision of their power networks, claimed the company.

MicroSCADA X will feature a next-generation human-machine interface (HMI) that ABB gives “an intuitive and adaptive experience providing clear and simplified insights” into customers’ power infrastructure.

“The solution delivers a world-class, versatile supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system with market-leading functionalities integrated into a single platform,” explained ABB in a statement.

MicroSCADA has installed base of over 14,000 systems. The new ‘X’ solution is fully cloud-enabled and can be used on portable devices. It provides distribution management functionality tightly integrated in the same system, with enhanced navigation and data handling across multiple operating systems, explained ABB: “Across the middle east, MicroSCADA is a popular power automation solution used in segments such as oil and gas, transport, infrastructure, utilities and in the integration of renewables. It is also used widely in other verticals such as real estate, where the solution is used across business and commercial projects.”

Martin Zuercher, Hub Business Line Manager, Business Line Grid Automation Middle East, Power Grids business added that the new and refreshed human machine interface is intuitive and simple-to-use, “enabling quick decision making and enhances safety of people and assets.”
