Vinci appoints Isabelle Spiegel as new environment head

Isabelle Spiegel has been appointed as the new head of Vinci’s Environment department. She has over 20 years’ experience in environment and sustainable development, in both consultancy and operational management. She reports to Pierre Coppey, executive VP of Vinci.

As part of her role, she is responsible for implementing Vinci’s new environment goals, according to Xavier Huillard, chairman and CEO of Vinci. Huillard also said that for the Vinci Group, considering the environment is essential at each project stage and throughout the lifecycle of each structure.

Vinci is developing day-to-day solutions that will help improve daily life for people in towns, cities and regions, and will meet the challenges facing urban development, digital transition and climate change, Huillard stated.

Spiegel’s most recent role was with Arcadis, she first joined the firm in May 2015 to head the company’s environment activities in France and manage teams specialising in contaminated site remediation and regulatory studies. She was also in charge of developing new service offerings and embedding sustainability as part of the Innovation and Transformation unit of Arcadis’ Europe and Middle East regions.

She is a graduate of the Ecole nationale supérieure des Mines de Douai engineering school and of the Technische Universität Berlin. She began her career at the Boulogne-sur-Mer Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
