Shortlist announced for KAPP’s sports and entertainment complex near Kuwait City

The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has invited the six shortlisted developers and developer consortia to submit requests for proposals (RfPs) for the construction of a services and entertainment centre near Kuwait City.

The shortlisted companies for the project are Mabanee; A’yan Real Estate; National Real Estate Company besides the consortia of United Real Estate (comprising United Building Company, Kuwait United Construction, United Facilities Management Company and Dar SSH International Engineering Consultants); Kuwait Real Estate (Aqarat) comprising Alwafir Marketing Services Company and that of Al Qurain International Real Estate comprising Kuwait Engineering Bureau, Alkuthban Alkuwaiti General Trading and Mudon Ahlia Real Estate.

In a statement, KAPP said that the project will be developed in the Al Egaila area of the Al Ahmadi Governorate, within the Fintas Commercial and Administrative Centre. It will be bound by the Fintas commercial area from the north and the east, the Private Universities area from          the south, and the Jaber Al Ali area from the west.

The project is being developed in collaboration with Kuwait Municipality on the basis of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The tenure of the PPP agreement is for 30 years, including a maximum of three years for the design, finance and construction of the project.

The entertainment, cultural, commercial and sports centre will cover an area of 85,500sqm and will house a four-storey sports complex, which will have a rentable area of 65,500sqm and a 20,000sqm fresh food market. The car park will have a capacity of 2,680 spaces.

The last date to submit RfPs is June 14, the authority added.
