Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) has kicked-off operations of two new 33/11kV power distribution stations. The substations are located in Al Saf 2 in Kalba city on the UAE’s east coast and in the University District.

According to a report by WAM, SEWA also announced several maintenance and network development projects.

The utility company says these projects will provide better services to residents and new developments in the emirate.

Dr Rashid Alleem, chairman of SEWA said that the support and follow-up of Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is a great incentive to exert further efforts to develop and modify networks and other projects.

Moza Al Zaabi, the director of Kalba said that Al Saf 2 station feeds into 500 homes, and the University District station was built to supply electricity to recently developed projects.
