Nakheel has awarded a $2.34m contract for a five kilometre cycling track, jogging route and outdoor gyms at its Nad Al Sheba community project. The facilities are scheduled to be delivered in early 2020.

According to a statement from the master developer, the bike and running tracks will run side-by-side in a loop around the perimeter of the 1,500 villa community.

The Nad Al Sheeba project is taking shape just off Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and will feature four- and five-bedroom homes, which the developer says will be available for lease soon. The access road to the community has already been completed, Nakheel says.

The development will also have retail and leisure facilities, including Nad Al Sheba Mall, which is already under construction. Last year, Nakheel appointed Metac General Contracting Company to build the mall, which is expected to have 200 shops, restaurants and entertainment outlets. The mall is expected to be complete in 2021.

Nakheel notes that the community with also have a community club with a restaurant, pool, gym and sports courts.
