Canada’s government has floated tenders for the design and construction of the country’s pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

According to a report by UK’s Construction Index, the scope of work for the project includes the operation and maintenance of the pavilion and the exhibition throughout the six-month period of Expo 2020.

It will also include the dismantling and removal of everything related to the pavilion, including the restoration of the site once the Expo is over, the report added.

Site mobilisation is expected to start in October 2019 and the final design is scheduled to be ready by January. Shell and core work are due to be completed by mid-May 2020, with interior fit-out scheduled to be finished by late August. The exhibit is expected to be installed by September 20, 2020; the report stated.

The estimated maximum funding available for the contract resulting from the bid solicitation is $9.65 million for the design, build, operation, maintenance and dismantling of the pavilion, and a further $2.22 million for the public presentation.
