Al Barakah International Investment (BII), in partnership with Abu Dhabi Municipality has announced the progress of their joint waterfront development, Al Qana. The public-private-partnership project is set to offer a modern lifestyle experience in Abu Dhabi and will open in Q4 2020.

According to a statement from the company, Al Qana will have seven key districts spanning over 2.4 km of waterfront walkways accompanied by landscaped community spaces. Amenities include F&B outlets, cinema experiences, and a skate-park. One of a kind attractions such as the Middle East’s largest aquarium, first-of-its-kind wellness hub, a VR park, and a yacht marina are some of the other facilities Al Qana will provide, it stated.

Moataz Mashal, managing director of BII said: “Al Qana will offer a new lifestyle for residents through exciting dining destinations and convenient facilities, whilst also being an attractive place for tourists to visit, in close proximity to many of the most famous landmarks in the capital.”

Meanwhile, Stuart Gissing, general manager of Al Qana added: “Since the launch of the project, our team of experts have been working closely with the authorities and our partners to ensure a unique, vibrant mix of complementary commercial services and facilities that bolster the value to investors, tenants and customers.”

In line with the current trend of providing a healthy and balanced lifestyle, the mixed-use project will focus on recreation and fun, with 50 per cent of the leasable area assigned to entertainment, the developer stated.

“Additional time was taken to enhance the project with unique features and world-leading design to ensure it is responding to the needs and requirements of residents and visitors,” the company said.

Al Qana is located on the historic natural Khor Al Maqta, the waterway bordering the mainland near the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and is in a prime location for both residents and tourists.
