The civil and infrastructure department of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC ME) has received a $217 million contract to upgrade roads near Dubai Hills Mall.

According to a statement from CSCEC ME, the project is located along Al Khail Road E44 between the interchanges of Umm Suqeim and Al Marabea Street to provide connectivity between Umm Suqeim, Al Khail roads and the Dubai Hills Mall, which is under construction.

The project will be composed of the construction of high grade and elevated highways, viaducts and ramps to improve the traffic flow between Umm Suqeim and Al Khail road. Construction of the project to occur while maintaining current traffic flow.

The contract was awarded by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which had recently assigned the last two phases’ (Phase 5 and 6) contracts in connection with the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai mega event.
