Majid Al Futtaim will open its first shopping mall in Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. The mall developer says that My City Centre Al Dhait will bring 30 lifestyle brands to the emirate and will also bring new dining options closer to residents and visitors of the northern emirate.

The mall is expected to be a key attraction in the city as it gears up for population and tourism growth. Ras Al Khaimah expects to host 603,000 residents by 2025 and welcome one million tourists by the end of 2018.

With several hotels scheduled to open in the next two years, the emirate expects to welcome 2.9m visitors by 2025, according to data from the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority and Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research.

“My City Centre Al Dhait will be instrumental in helping develop the local community: by providing a space for people to meet, connect and have a cultural exchange. It is not just a place to shop but a key activity centre in the social fabric of communities. Elevating their purpose beyond simply offering an outlet to buy groceries or pick up some new clothes,” a company representative said.

The launch will be held in the presence of Majid Al Futtaim Properties CEO (Shopping Malls) Ghaith Shocair and other senior government officials.
