Machinery giant Caterpillar and its exclusive dealer in the region, Al-Bahar, will take part in the Middle East’s largest event dedicated to the infrastructure and heavy construction industry, The Big 5 Heavy, which will be held in Dubai from March 26 to 28 next year.

According to a statement by the event organisers, Cat machinery will be showcased by Al-Bahar at the event’s venue, Dubai World Trade Centre. The Al-Bahar-Caterpillar stand is expected to be the biggest at the exhibition, the statement added.

Confirming Caterpillar’s and Al-Bahar’s participation at The Big 5 Heavy 2018, an Al-Bahar spokesperson said: “We are seeing a revamp in new infrastructure projects and large-scale developments in the region supported by the local governments as they pursue economic diversification goals. Rapid population growth, international events like Expo 2020, and investments in a variety of sectors, including hospitality and mining are boosting heavy equipment sales in the GCC, so we feel this is the right time for us to reinforce our leadership in the market. Our presence at The Big 5 Heavy will strengthen our customer relationships and provide an excellent platform to showcase our capabilities, as well as Caterpillar’s latest and most innovative solutions for the local market.”

The global leader in construction machinery will be displaying heavy equipment for a wide variety of applications, including earthmoving, building construction, mining, road making, demolition, waste and scrap handling.

Richard Pavitt, event director of The Big 5 Heavy, said: “Caterpillar and Al-Bahar’s choice to come back to the exhibition after years of absence, demonstrates that there’s a growing potential for the heavy construction industry in the region. It also confirms that the decision to re-launch Middle East Concrete and PMV Live, once co-located to the Big 5, as a new, independent and international large-scale exhibition dedicated to the heavy construction, was the best to support the industry and effectively meet its needs.”
