Multi-disciplinary construction company ALEC has won the contract for the construction of the $163m Jumeirah Living Marina Gate project. The project will be jointly executed with ALEC subsidiaries Alemco and Alec Fitout.

Under the terms of the contract, ALEC is responsible for the construction of one tower, as well as 15 villas and ground floor retail units. The tower’s specifications include two basement levels, ground and mezzanine levels, an eight-level podium, 48 upper floors, and a roof level, accommodating 493 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses.

“We are delighted to be involved in the construction of The Residences at Marina Gate I, II and Jumeirah Living Marina Gate. It is a fantastic development in a great location and we are proud to be working alongside Select Group to make this project a success,” said Kez Taylor, CEO of ALEC.

The development was launched in the first quarter of this year by Select Group. The developer says Jumeirah Living Marina Gate represents the third and final tower of the Marina Gate community, which is situated at the original entrance of the Dubai Marina.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence. The appointment of a world class contractor like ALEC is further testament to our continued strategy of working with tier one partners and suppliers. The long-term outlook for real estate in the UAE remains positive and Jumeirah Living Marina Gate is set to raise the bar in luxury residential developments. With the commencement of main works, we aim to deliver this project on schedule and to the highest standards.” said Rahail Aslam, CEO of Select Group.

The development is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019.
