Work begins at Deyaar’s hotel project in Al Barsha, Dubai

Developer Deyaar says work is underway on a hotel and serviced apartment project in Al Barsha, close to Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.

The hotel is being built on a total plot size of 70,800 square feet and is expected to be completed by December 2017, a statement said.

It will cater to both leisure and business travellers, and comprise of 408 units. This includes 299 rooms of which 15 will be suites, and 109 serviced apartments of which 93 will be one-beds and 16 two-beds.

Facilities and amenities will include a business centre, meeting room, spa, gym and a children’s play area. There will also be dedicated leisure facilities for men and women separately including a swimming pool for women, and restaurant options that cater to visitors with a preference for Sharia compliant accommodation.

“This project reiterates Deyaar’s commitment to support the Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020 and increase the supply and variety of accommodation options,” said Saeed Al Qatami, chief executive officer of Deyaar.

“The property is conveniently positioned in one of Dubai’s burgeoning districts in the vicinity of numerus landmarks and facilities. Our Al Barsha project is complementary to our growth strategy and is a significant expansion of our portfolio in the hospitality sector, as we are aiming to manage 1,000 hospitality units by 2018.”
