The hotel operator Jumeirah Group has signed with Select Group to manage 508 units in the latter’s Marina Gate development in Dubai.

The Dubai-based Jumeirah will manage a tower within the development, located at Dubai Marina, under its Jumeirah Living brand.

The property, titled Jumeirah Living Marina Gate, is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2019.

It will include 104 serviced apartments, 389 branded residences and 15 villas. Amenities will include an infinity pool, two-level gymnasium, residents’ lounge and business centre.

“Jumeirah Living perfectly complements our Marina Gate development by providing residents with an unmatched opportunity for a curated lifestyle within Dubai Marina,” said Rahail Aslam, CEO of Select Group.

Jumeirah currently operates 23 properties worldwide, including the Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living in London and Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence in Dubai.

“We are delighted to bring our Jumeirah Living hospitality to the prestigious Marina Gate community,” said Gerald Lawless, president and group CEO at Jumeirah Group.

“Marina Gate will appeal to residents looking for a truly distinctive lifestyle and is a fantastic addition to our global hospitality portfolio.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Lawless – who joined Jumeirah Group 18 years ago and spearheaded its expansion – will be stepping down from his role as founding chief executive and president of the company.

He will be taking on a new position in the group’s parent company, Dubai Holding. Starting February 1, Lawless will be replaced by Stefan Leser, who joins the group from Swiss travel company Kuoni.
