A Drake & Scull International subsidiary has secured a series of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contracts in Oman worth Dh350 million ($95.3 million).

Under the new agreements, Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) Oman will deliver MEP works on the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Seeb, two hotels near Muscat, and at an airport-hangar-related facility.

The scope of the works for the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre spans a 3,100-seat central auditorium, a 455-seat secondary auditorium, a ballroom, a food court, meeting rooms, administration offices and external works. Work on the project is expected to begin soon, with completion scheduled for 2017.

DSE Oman will also carry out supply, installation, testing and commissioning of core MEP systems for two 5-star beachfront hotels at Saraya Bandar Jissah, near Muscat. The hotels are expected to be handed over in 2016 and 2017.

DSE Oman will also work on supply, installation, testing and commissioning of low side heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing work for an airport-hangar-related facility. Work on the project is scheduled for completion early next year.
