New products have featured prominently at the Construction Machinery Show in Saudi Arabia, as exhibitors use the show as a platform to showcase the latest kit and introduce customers to brands.
Thursday marks the last opportunity to visit the show, held at the Dhahran International Exhibitions Centre (DIEC) in Dammam, and co-located with BUILDEX, Saudi Arabia’s International Building & Construction Exhibition. The Construction Machinery Show runs from 4-10pm.
TATS (Trans Arabian Technical Services), a sister company to Saudi Diesel, displayed its new range of Daewoo Trucks. After signing an exclusive distribution deal last year, the company received the vehicles early in 2015. This was the first major outing for the vehicles, explained Mustafa Addada, country manager of the Trucks Division at TATS.
The Daewoo range is focused on medium and heavy vehicles, with vehicles available in 20 tonne, 30t and 40t classes, with the new 15t truck to come in three months. The new vehicle types include tractor heads and tippers.
General Trading & Equipment Co (GTE) used the show to display new products, including the Bobcat S450 skid steer, the first showing of the new machine in the Eastern Province. The company is holding regular product demonstrations on the hour, and General Manager Shams Elramly says that the company have on hand one of the world’s best professional Bobcat drivers, provided by the manufacturer.
Elramly revealed that in the last year, GTE became the largest Bobcat dealer in the world, thanks to its large volumes sold across Saudi Arabia.
Other products on show from GTE included Ammann compactors, both for soil and asphalt. There was also a self-loading concrete mixer from the Italian firm D’Avino, designed to be used to produce concrete for job sites in remote locations.
Kanoo Machinery used the show to launch its new JLG 4017RS telehandlers. Designed for rental applications and contractors, the machine has a maximum lift height of 17 metres. Kanoo had two of the machines on display.
The show features over 20,000sqm of various construction and heavy equipment on display, and 10,000sqm of demonstration space. It is run in conjunction with BUILDEX by CPI Media Group, of which staging.bigprojectme.com/ is also part.
