The master-developer behind some of Abu Dhabi’s most prominent projects has hired a longstanding executive of the emirate’s sovereign wealth fund as its new CEO, Reuters reported.

The Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) reportedly hired Sufian Hasan al-Marzooqi, who had worked at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) for 24 years, in mid-September.

TDIC is behind high-profile projects such as Saadiyat Island, which will be home to Middle East branches of the Louvre and Guggenheim museums.

A spokesperson from TDIC confirmed the appointment to Reuters, the news agency said.

Marzooqi held positions in accounting, investment, human resources and strategy in his former role at ADIA, it was reported.

He replaces Ali al-Hammadi, who remains an advisor to TDIC Chairman Ali Majed al-Mansoori, the TDIC spokesman told Reuters.
