Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company awards Elsewedy subsidiary $54m in EPC contracts

Elsewedy Electric for Trading & Distribution has signed three new EPC contracts worth $54m with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC). The firm is a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric.

According to a statement, Elsewedy Electric for Trading & Distribution will build overhead transmission line (2x30km) at a cost of $9.45m on a turnkey basis to connect the Toshka 4 substation. The EPC contract will be implemented over a four-month period starting from the date of acceptance of the bid.

The firm was also appointed for the construction of the Toshka Substation, which will be built on a turnkey basis at a cost of $26.1m. The EPC contract will be implemented over 10-month period starting from the date of acceptance of the bid.

In addition, Elsewedy Electric for Trading & Distribution will build the West Portsaid Substation at a cost of $18.4m on a turnkey basis. The EPC contract will be implemented over a 12-month period starting from the signing date.

The statement notes that Elsewedy Electric for Trading & Distribution has significant experience in the execution of high voltage transmission lines (over 1000km), as well as experience with delivering 220KV & 500KV substations within Egypt and Africa.
