Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) has announced the signing of a contract for the implementation of a wastewater project in the Madinah region at an investment of more than $40 million.
In a statement, NWC said that the project will serve the districts in the north and northwest Madinah regions, including King Fahad Airport, Al-Duwaikhlah and Al-Shafiyah districts. It will also serve southern districts such as Al-Ranonaa, Al-Jabrah and Bani Bayadah, it added.
The main pipelines that will be laid as part of the project will be 7,775m long, with diameters between 1,200 and 2,200mm, the statement said.
Ayman Y Yamani, NWC North-west Cluster senior general manager, said that the project will serve 60,000 people and increase the amount of wastewater received by the wastewater treatment plant in Madinah from 100,000 to 120,000 cu m per day.
He concluded by pointing out that NWC is committed to completing all projects and connecting water and wastewater services to the residential districts in Madinah region, and its governorates.
