Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education has announced plans to complete work on 21 school projects worth a total of $56 million and deliver them late this month.

According to a report by Saudi Press Agency, these institutions – catering to both boys and girls – are in the regions of Riyadh, Makkah, Eastern Province, Madinah, Asir, Tabuk, Jazan and Najran. Collectively, they have a capacity for more than 13,260 students.

The ministry said that the new school and education buildings would confirm to quality standards and create an attractive and stimulating education environment for the students, conducive to creativity and learning, the report added.

Furthermore, the plan achieves the ministry’s ambition to do away with low-quality rented buildings, remove bottlenecks and have separate buildings for different stages of general education, the report said. In addition, the ministry aims to tackle the issue of stalled projects.
