Doosan Bobcat reports record sales growth in EMEA region

Doosan Bobcat has announced a record 12.8% rise in sales for 2019 in its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, amounting to a total of $942.7m for Doosan Portable Power (DPP) and the Bobcat brand combined, and has committed to launching 48 new products this year despite the turbulence caused by the spread of the coronavirus.

A statement from Doosan Bobcat EMEA said the results were “unprecedently successful“ compared to the previous year and contributed to an overall worldwide sales growth of 7.2%, which included strong performances in Europe and North America.

For the Bobcat range in EMEA, the total sales units growth reached 11% in 2019 compared to 2018, with Bobcat skid-steer loaders seeing high sales growth of 12.7%, enabling the compnay to comfortably retian its position as the world’s largets seling skid-steer brand. Bobcat also reported a 7.1% rise in the sales of its mini-excavators as well as a sharp increase of around 15.2% in the sales of its compact track loaders. The brand’s telehandlers and backhoe loader also saw veyr high growth in sales last year, at around 16.7% and 37.2% respectively year-on-year.

To make this vision come true, we will be introducing an unprecedented number of new products and technologies. In 2020, we will be launching 48 new or significantly upgraded products in eight different product categories of which some will be new to Bobcat. We believe that our strong focus on innovation will be the key driver to help us navigate safely through these turbulent times related to coronavirus spread.”

Doosan Bobcat EMEA produces about a third of the global production of Bobcat machines. These include compact construction and agricultural machinery such as skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, mini-excavators, telehandlers and a vast family of over 130 kinds of attachments. The company also manufactures portable power equipment under the Doosan Portable Power brand, including air compressors, light towers and generators.
