ASGC’s steel fabrication and erection wing, Al Shafar Steel Engineering LLC (ASSENT) has announced that it has launched its new pre-fabricated modular building solution at The Big 5.

According to a statement from ASSENT, pre-fabricated modular buildings are made from light-gauge steel and constructed off-site in a factory setting before being transported and assembled on site. Due, to this, modular building offers a fast, efficient, eco-friendly, and affordable alternative to traditional building methods.

Modular buildings are constructed under controlled plant conditions using the same materials, designed to the same codes and standards, as conventionally built facilities, which is why it is ideally suited for rapid growth seen in the UAE and beyond.

ASSENT further stated that buildings are produced in ‘modules’ that when put together on site, reflect the identical design intent and specifications of the most sophisticated site-built facilities without compromise.

Amr Ali, managing partner at ASSENT, said: “The scale of construction work in the UAE, and across the wider region, has brought about the need for faster, more flexible, and convenient solutions that enhance the building process.”

“Pre-fabricated modular building fits the bill perfectly. We believe this is the most rational development of the construction sector, falling in line with the fast pace of life and the high standards of living we all enjoy in the UAE. Modular solutions are flexible enough so that with smart planning, innovative designs, and powerful capabilities, all building types of any size can be accomplished.”

Modular technology allows for several activities to happen in parallel, stated Accent. This dramatically reduces the project delivery timeline with average reduction of between 40 – 50 per cent for large scale buildings. Additionally, a modular building approach can reduce project build budgets by as much as 30 – 40 per cent, the steel fabrication company added.

Assent stated that modular construction can be used for all types of buildings- single or multiple storeys including residential, commercial, educational, healthcare, and warehouses as well as for bathroom and kitchen pods.
