Officials at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has met with a high-level Canadian delegation to explore mutual cooperation, especially in the renewable ad clean energy fields.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA met with Marcy Grossman, Canada’s Consul-General in Dubai, and Gabriel Jabbour, Trade Commissioner at the Consulate-General of Canada in Dubai, to discuss and exchange best experiences with Canadian institutions and companies, especially in sustainability, and renewable and clean energy sectors.

The collaboration, Al Tayer stated, contributes to enhancing the distinguished relations between the UAE and Canada.

According to the Dubai Media Office, DEWA’s chief stressed on the authority’s keenness to consolidate cooperation and joint work with Canadian companies in renewable and clean energy sectors.

Al Tayer also highlighted DEWA’s strategy for the energy sector to make Dubai the city with the lowest carbon footprint in the world, and a global hub for clean energy and green economy by enhancing its reliability on renewable and clean energy source.

Grossman, meanwhile, praised DEWA’s achievements in the fields of renewable and clean energy, and expressed that Canadian companies are interested to participate in DEWA’s projects to promote sustainable development in Dubai.

The Media Office further stated that such meetings are regularly undertaken by DEWA to ensure cooperation and collaboration with all diplomatic and consular missions in the UAE.
