Al Ain Municipality, Musanada to build $2.72mn worth recreational projects

Al Ain Municipality has partnered with Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) for the construction of seven new parks and three sand playgrounds spread over an area of 12,100 sqm. across four regions, Sweihan, Nahel, Al Shwaib and Al Faqa.

Expected to be completed by October, the total cost of the project is $2.72 million, with more than 47 workers, engineers and consultants currently employed for its construction.

The new project aims to expand the services offered to UAE nationals and residents in terms of engaging in recreational activities, according to Musanada.

Additionally, Musanada stated that the project will involve the construction of fully fenced-in and shaded play parks for children, as well as fenced-in playgrounds designed according to the highest international specifications and standards, while observing health and safety aspects.

State-news agency WAM reported that municipality officials have designed the playgrounds according to international standards, and have discussed thickness of playground surfaces and critical fall height of the park components and play equipments.

In addition, the municipality is also currently considering linking the surrounding areas of the playgrounds and parks to the nearest pedestrian crossings, the report added. Moreover, the parks will include at least 95 per cent shaded areas, as well as, have spotlights to provide clear visibility at night
