Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded US Chiller Services (USCS) a major contract for the operation and maintenance of three district cooling plants in Ruwais City. The three ADNOC plants have a total installed capacity of 26,000 tonnes of electricity-driven centrifugal chillers.

As per the terms of the deal, USCS will be responsible for the complete operation, maintenance, services and energy optimisation of the three chilled water plants for five years, starting from this month.

USCS said its re-commissioning/retro-commissioning services began as soon as the contract was awarded, to ensure chiller and ancillary equipment reliability and optimum efficiency, as well as set benchmarks for future ECMs (energy conserving measures).

The US-based company has been operating in the Middle East region since 2001, through a joint venture with Al Shirawi Group. The company is said to provide specialist services for large tonnage centrifugal chillers, liquid chillers and energy solutions, as well as operation and maintenance services for the district cooling industry.
