Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (DoT) has announced that it has started the distribution of roadwork and facilities permits across the emirate.

In a statement, the DoT explained that these permits are being issued by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the department, in coordination with all its stakeholders to help improve the level of road safety on construction sites. In addition, these permits will also help assure the smoothness of traffic flow, it added.

ITC affirmed that these steps are part of a process to assure the development of services, in line with the centre’s strategy, which is designed to find out means of developing an integrated and sustainable road network that fully serves the public.

It explained that permit requests should be submitted a month prior to the implementation date, so as to ensure that alternative options can be planned to ensure the smoothness of traffic flow, and to plan ahead in a timely manner.

The requests should be submitted along with other requirements and assure compliance with the traffic permits conditions, the statement added.
