Mace has announced Paul Donaghy as its head of cost consultancy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). According to a statement from the firm, Donaghy will join the firm’s 80-person team and will focus on expanding the business and delivering high quality cost consultancy services to clients.

He is said to have over 20 years of experience in the commercial and contractual administration of major construction and engineering projects in Ireland, Mauritius and the Middle East. Prior to joining Mace, he managed the contracts department at Meraas Developments, and then oversaw the same department within North25 Project Management.

“Paul brings a unique perspective to Mace having worked within Meraas and North25, leading organisations, for more than six years. His understanding of a client’s needs and his experience of working on such a breadth of different projects will be invaluable. I am sure that our cost consultancy business in Mena will continue to thrive under his leadership,” said Mark Taylor, regional director for MENA at Mace.

Donaghy holds a BSc in Construction Economics (Hons), an MSc in Pan-European Construction Management (Hons) and is completing an LLM in Construction Law & Arbitration, the statement said.

Jason Millett, Mace’s COO for consultancy added, “We are delighted to welcome Paul to our team in Dubai. He has worked on some of the region’s most high-profile projects and has first-hand experience of working at a high level within leading regional client organisations. Expanding our cost consultancy business is a strategic priority for Mace, and I look forward to working closely with Paul to deliver that ambition.”
