Shams Development Company (SDC) has begun building its 4,000sqm Shams Al Sarooj restaurant complex at Shatti Al Qurum in the sultanate.

The $11.6m project is expected to feature five-star tourist restaurants and organic food outlets besides top international brands, according to a report published by Muscat Daily.

Maryam Mirabbasi, general manager, Shams Development Company, said the project has been of interest, since her organisation participated in the Ministry of Tourism’s competition.

“The company prepared the competition documents and presented engineering proposals and feasibly studies for the project. We worked hard as a team to win the competition of the project,” Mirabbasi said.

Mirabbasi also said that Resolution Engineering Consultancy is serving as the lead design consultant on the project.

The project is being untaken by the public and private sector entities, and is the result of the efforts of Shams Development Company, and investor Issa bin Mahfoud al Riyami, the report said.
