Major vertical transport manufacturer KONE Corporation says it has won an order to provide 156 elevators, escalators and travelators at the new Dubai Hills Mall currently under construction within the Dubai Hills Estate district of the new Mohammed Bin Rashid City (MBR City) in the UAE.

The Dubai Hills Mall project is being developed by Emaar Development PJSC in joint venture with Meraas. KONE will deliver 88 escalators, two inclined autowalks, or travelators, and 66 elevators for the new mall which is planned to feature more than 650 retail outlets, a 6,000sqm supermarket, an 18-screen cinema, family entertainment centers, a clinic, spas and external concert spaces.

“Dubai Hills Mall will become a key venue for lifestyle experiences at the Dubai Hills Estate. Visitors will expect the highest level of ease and efficiency when moving within the premises, and we are extremely proud that our solutions were selected to support the realization of this vision,” said Pierre Liautaud, KONE EVP for South Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The Dubai Hills Estate is a 2,700-acre mixed-use development and the largest of its kind in the region with a series of planned neighborhoods centered around an 18-hole championship golf course.

KONE announced in March that it had won an order to supply 46 elevators and five escalators for the ICD Brookfield Place project in Dubai’s DIFC district
