Dubai-based crane rental company Al Faris has placed an order for 25 mobile cranes with Liebherr. The order marks the 25th anniversary of the Middle East’s largest crane rental operator and one of the largest crane rental companies in the world.

According to Liebherr, the total value of the order is around $22m, which includes 12 of the brand new Liebherr LRT 1090-2.1 and LRT 1100- 2.1 rough-terrain cranes, with the rental company opting for four of the former and eight of the latter. Also included in the order are five LTM 1070-4.2, two LTM 1130-5.1 and six LTM 1160-5.2 all-terrain cranes.

Al Faris is one of the largest Liebherr customers in the world and currently has around 400 Liebherr cranes in its fleet. The Dubai group, founded in 1992 and recently celebrating its 25th anniversary, can look back at a successful company history as the largest crane and transport vehicle rental company in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. The company has a 3,200-strong workforce based at five sites in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and its core competence is mobile crane rental.

The new 90t LRT 1090-2.1 and 100t LRT 1100-2.1 from Liebherr, which comprise the bulk of the Al Faris order, are part of a new series of rough-terrain cranes in the manufacturer’s product portfolio unveiled in March at Conexpo, Las Vegas.

According to Liebherr, in addition to their capacity, the cranes feature high safety standards and simple, intuitive operation. They include Liebherr’s VarioBase variable support base as standard and are powerful and robust LRT cranes, suitable for off-road use. They have also been designed to ensure low-cost transport throughout the world, said the manufacturer.
