Doosan to merge divisions for EMEA expansion

Doosan Bobcat has announced that it will transfer its heavy industries subsidiary, Doosan Heavy, to its construction equipment and infrastructure support arm, Doosan Infracore, in order to consolidate its market presence in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business region.

The South Korean giant said that the move follows the precedent of Doosan Bobcat EMEA integrating the sales and distribution of its compact and heavy construction equipment under a single umbrella in order to maximise synergy across both businesses, which improved the company’s position in the region.

The planned business transfer, due to take effect on January 1 next year, is expected to further expand Doosan Bobcat’s market presence in the EMEA region, with a focus on compact equipment. The transfer also seeks to enable Doosan Infracore to enhance core competencies of Doosan Heavy by leveraging its functional expertise and taking full responsibility for the entire value chain, from sales and product development to production, under a single global leadership.

Alvaro Pacini, president, Doosan Bobcat EMEA, said: “This organisational change clearly demonstrates our commitment to the long-term success of our company, as well as our valued partners.”
