Fifteen new pedestrian bridges are set to be built in Qatar, featuring services such as shops, restaurants, toilets and ATMs.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has announced it will construct the bridges, which will also include escalators and elevators, in Doha and its suburbs, according to the Qatar News Agency.

Construction will be according to the urban plan for the city of Doha and in coordination with the road department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry said.

A committee with representatives from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the Public Works Authority, the traffic department of the Ministry of Interior and the Qatar Development Bank was formed to oversee it, QNA reported.
