Construction of a glass house and ‘Cave of Miracles’ at Dubai’s Quran Park has been given the go-ahead, according to the UAE state news agency WAM.

The projects, to be built at an estimated cost of AED100 million ($27.2m), were approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said: “The project has a strategic location in Khawaneej at a total area of 60 hectares. Among the most important elements of the project is the Glass House, which contains plants mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, PBUH, as well as shops selling herbs and plants mentioned in the Holy Quran. The Cave of Miracles contains the miracles mentioned in the Quran, illustrated using the latest interactive technology.”

The project will also feature “solar trees” providing Wi-Fi and facilities for charging mobile phones.
