United Development Company (UDC), the master developer behind The Pearl Qatar, has said it will conduct an engineering study for a road that will link the island with the rest of Doha, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The developer has already commissioned specialised consultants to study the feasibility of the project, including possible alternative routes to construct the proposed connection with the road network surrounding the Pearl development.
Efforts are being made to minimise the environmental impact and expropriation loss, UDC said.
As part of its remit, the study will also cover modern road traffic control solutions, which will facilitate entry and exit to the island.
The UDC initiative is aimed at easing the traffic congestion linked to the rising number of residents and visitors on The Pearl Qatar.
