Dubai Municipality has announced that work has begun on a AED 4.69m ($1.2m) park located in the Al Twar 1 area near Bin Ketit Mosque.

The 1.1 hectare park is part of a proposal for developing new attractions for tourists and visitors to Dubai, and is in line with the government’s plans to increase greenery in residential communities.

The park will contain two playgrounds with rubber flooring – one for those aged two to six and the other for six to twelve-year old, a running track, trees, bushes and lawns and an automatic irrigation system.

It will also use solar energy for lighting at night. It will contain toilets with accessibility for the handicapped, a security guard room, a storage room for gardening tools, three main entrances and seating areas with wooden chairs, bins and wooden pergolas, according to Mohammad Al Mushroom, director of the Projects Department.
