Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is close to securing the second tranche a $340 million financing agreement for the fourth line of the Cairo Metro, it has been reported.
According to a report by news agency Amwal Al Ghad, the move comes after a meeting between the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and Shinichi Yamanaka – director general of JICA, on the sidelines of the World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington.
The first phase of Line 4 will extend around 17 kilometers between Remaya square up to El-Malek El-Saleh station of Line 1 and will meet the route of Line 2 in Giza station for service exchange between the two lines.
